Two Unwanted Players Left, Including Verratti, and Mission Accomplished for PSG
PSG is on the verge of achieving an incredible feat by offloading all its unwanted players, with only Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler remaining.
What an accomplishment! At the beginning of the summer, PSG had a complete starting eleven and more in the squad, and not just backup players. PSG has done some great work, with many players being sold or loaned out.
Ismaël Gharbi (loaned to Stade Lausanne-Ouchy), Colin Dagba (loaned to AJ Auxerre), Juan Bernat (loaned to Benfica Lisbon), and Timothée Pembélé (sold to Sunderland) are the most recent names on the list. Georginio Wijnaldum has also been sold to Al-Ettifaq.
Now, there are two unwanted players left, and they are not insignificant: Marco Verratti, who Luis Enrique does not count on, and Julian Draxler. The German is expected to move to Qatar for a fee of 10 to 15 million euros (including bonuses).
Verratti is set to join Al-Arabi in a deal estimated at just under 50 million euros. Another two big jackpots for PSG, which will have completely cleared its squad. Only Hugo Ekitike will remain, as he has chosen to stay at PSG.
