According to the Spanish press, FC Barcelona is considering signing Marco Verratti, who was sold by PSG last summer.

Having departed PSG last summer for Qatar, Marco Verratti might be eyeing a return to Europe. According to reports from Sport, the Catalan club is ready to bring the Italian midfielder back, seven years after their famous attempt to recruit him, which ended with PSG’s pursuit of Neymar and apologies from Verratti.

Despite being 31 years old, FC Barcelona could make a move for the player. Verratti has negotiated the right to return to Europe one week per month, but he may be tempted by a permanent return.

According to Catalan media, Verratti wouldn’t be a costly acquisition for Barcelona, and a return to Europe would also enhance his chances of representing Italy in the next World Cup, two years away. After the chaos of 2017, Verratti could finally make the move to Barcelona.
