PSG Issues Ultimatum to Mbappé: Deadline Set for July 31st
PSG publicly puts pressure on Kylian Mbappé: the player must extend or leave before a deadline.
Despite not receiving any offers, PSG is pressuring Kylian Mbappé. According to L’Equipe, « the deadline set for the Mbappé camp is July 31, which is the initial deadline for exercising his third optional year. »
This timeline somewhat aligns with the statements made by president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in Le Parisien. « Mbappé must make a decision next week, or at the latest, within two weeks. And if he does not want to sign a new contract, the door is open. That goes for him and everyone else. No one is bigger than the club, not even me as a player. It’s very clear. But contractually, he can stay at PSG for another season without extending his contract and refusing to join another club… In the standards of football, you never see your best player leave the club for free. It never happens. »
According to L’Equipe, « the comments from the PSG president are also aimed at activating the process. Within PSG, where many subjects are overshadowed by this highly sensitive issue, they are now waiting for the player to definitively take a stance in order to move forward in one direction or another. »
However, PSG has not received any formal offers from any club, whether it be Real Madrid or Liverpool. « The only certainty at the moment is that internally, it is stated that even in the event of a stalemate, there is no intention of excluding Mbappé from the first-team squad, » concludes L’Equipe.
