Mbappé to Join Real Madrid Next Summer: Report
Italian journalist and transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano, suggests that Kylian Mbappé will leave PSG at the end of the season.
Kylian Mbappé faces a crucial decision: whether to extend his contract with PSG or join Real Madrid as a free agent after the season. According to Fabrizio Romano, all signs point to Mbappé inevitably heading to Real Madrid.
« In July, Mbappé, along with his mother and close associates, were not speaking to Nasser Al-Khelaïfi at all. It was a heavy summer, and then in August, Mbappé agreed not to take the famous loyalty bonus included in his contract renewal. Every year, he would have had to receive a sum that would have been around €85-90 million just to stay at PSG as part of this incredible renewal signed just a year ago because Mbappé was very close to Real Madrid. »
« He gave up this bonus in exchange for the opportunity to play regularly at PSG. Because until that moment, Mbappé had been excluded from the squad, not training with the first team, and not going on tour. What was the problem? Quite simply, Real Madrid didn’t want to sign him this summer. Real Madrid, as a matter of principle after what happened last summer, and in my opinion, it has always been their stance, that is, ‘you have to come to us, but in the end, you renew with PSG.’ Now, as a matter of principle, either Real Madrid takes Mbappé on their terms, meaning for free without paying any transfer fee to PSG, or Mbappé can stay at PSG. »
« But from what I hear, I believe that next summer, we are heading towards this scenario, either through a release clause or for free as will probably happen, I think his final destination will be Real Madrid, » says Fabrizio Romano.
