Ligue 1. Is the Transfer Window Opening Next Week?
The transfer window hasn’t started yet, but it might kick off quite early this year: on June 10th.
The transfer market is already buzzing online and behind the scenes, although not officially open yet. According to Foot Mercato, the transfer window could start as soon as Monday, June 10th, just like last year. The League will also set the closing date, which will be either Friday, August 30th, Saturday, August 31st, Sunday, September 1st (unlikely), or Monday, September 2nd (more likely).
With this early opening, clubs can kick off their transfer operations sooner, allowing for strategic adjustments for the upcoming season.
Matvey Safonov, goalkeeper for Krasnodar, could be one of the first transfers to be finalized in June. The player has already undergone his medical examination and is ready to sign a 5-year contract with PSG, according to @FabrizioRomano.
Although FIFA currently states that the official opening date of the transfer window in France is set for July 1st, 2024, this anticipation will enable clubs to prepare their squads earlier.
