Warren Zaïre-Emery, who was named captain of the French U21 national team by Thierry Henry, expressed his delight and commitment to the role after the match against Denmark.

« I’m very, very happy to be the captain of the U21 national team. We’re starting things off very well with our first victory, which gives us a great start. Hopefully, it will continue this way for the qualification round against Slovenia, » said the PSG player in an interview with La Chaîne l’Equipe.

When asked about how he learned about his captaincy, he said, « He (Thierry Henry) came to talk to me and told me what he expected from me, what he wanted. After that, I told him it wasn’t a problem for me. It’s a good thing, and it also helps me open up more, which I do very little. I’ll try to be the best captain I can be. »
