Thierry Henry teases (and congratulates) Warren Zaïre Emery

Appointed captain of the France U21 team since Thierry Henry took over as coach in August, midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery has been called up to the senior French national team.

Thierry Henry loses his captain but is delighted. « We’re here for the France national team, even though winning is the most important, I attach a lot of importance to that. But in the end, the goal is for Warren to rise, stay, and keep saying hello to me at Clairefontaine. « He is one of the best players at PSG. When DD (Didier Deschamps) called me to say that I couldn’t count on Warren, I thought, okay, it was just a matter of time. I knew very well; I thought it was going to happen before already, so happy to have participated for 2 minutes 30 in his evolution, » Henry joked with a smile.

Thierry Henry also reacted to the now-famous video of the celebration of Warren’s selection with other PSG players. « I had never seen someone get jumped on and stay in the same position. That’s Warren for you! »
