Ruptured Cruciate Ligaments, Lucas Hernandez Injury Confirmed
Lucas Hernandez suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament during Dortmund-PSG.
Lucas Hernandez had to prematurely leave the field during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund due to a twist of his left knee.
« The PSG defender, who exited injured after Borussia Dortmund’s opening goal, is scheduled to undergo an MRI later today. However, the initial medical examinations lean towards pessimism, » announces Le Parisien. If confirmed, this would mean a several-month absence and his withdrawal from participation in Euro 2024 with France.
PSG has further confirmed: « The player will undergo surgery in the coming days. A new update will be provided afterward, » PSG announced in a statement. Barring any surprises, Lucas Hernandez will not return to the field before 2025.
During the first match of the 2022 World Cup, Lucas Hernandez suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee against Australia.
« I have no news. It doesn’t seem very positive. The doctors need to analyze it, » Luis Enrique stated Wednesday night on Canal Plus.
