PSG is set to compete in the 32nd round of the Coupe de France in early January against US Revel, but not on a standard football pitch.
Adaptation is key. The field of US Revel, a small club that qualified for the 32nd round of the Coupe de France, is not approved at this level of competition. Therefore, Paris Saint-Germain will play elsewhere. The venue will be the Pierre-Fabre Stadium in Castres on January 7, 2024, at 9:00 PM.
Although US Revel, a team from Regional 1, had the opportunity to face PSG at home, their stadium does not meet the standards of the French Football Federation (FFF), leading to the relocation of the match.
The Pierre-Fabre Stadium, typically used by Castres Olympique in rugby, will host the encounter. The maximum capacity of the stadium will be reduced, with approximately 10,000 spectators expected, including 539 Parisian supporters. The final confirmation of the relocation is expected after a federal delegation evaluates the facilities on December 27.
And, of course, the rugby goalposts and lines will be replaced with football lines and goals…
