Paris Saint-Germain may ultimately remain at the Parc des Princes after all. According to PSG Inside Actus on X, recent announcements about a potential move might simply be a tactic to secure ownership of the stadium from the Paris City Council.
While the club has considered other locations on the outskirts of Paris, such as Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Saint-Cloud, and Aulnay-sous-Bois, these plans remain in the early stages.
The Parc des Princes remains PSG’s preferred option, despite complicated negotiations with the city. Any move would be unpopular with fans, for whom the Parc holds significant sentimental value as a historic gathering place. The upcoming 2026 municipal elections could also be decisive in this process.
Current mayor Anne Hidalgo has resisted the idea of selling the stadium, while her long-time rival, Rachida Dati, has shown support for a sale to PSG. A potential change in leadership could thus tip the balance, making it more likely for PSG to secure ownership and invest in renovations to expand the stadium’s capacity, ensuring that the Parc des Princes continues to serve as their iconic home.
