PSG awaits a new mayor to buy back the Parc des Princes

Parc des Princes

PSG continues to search for the ideal location for its new stadium. Saint-Cloud is an option, as is the Parc des Princes.

The Parc des Princes is soon to bid farewell to PSG. If the city hall maintains its stance and refuses to sell the stadium, the club is considering building a new stadium. According to information from L’Equipe, the site of the Saint-Cloud racecourse remains at the top of the list.

PSG hopes for a change in mayor in 2026 to acquire the Parc des Princes. Anne Hidalgo’s main competitor, Rachida Dati, appears to be more favorable to selling the stadium.

In the meantime, the Saint-Cloud racecourse, located near Paris, seems to meet all the criteria. « In parallel with discussions with the latter, the Parisian management, notably Victoriano Melero, the club’s general secretary, maintains contact with the mayor of Saint-Cloud, Éric Berdoati (DVD), after an initial meeting a few months ago, » says L’Equipe.

However, the club remains open to other options, as the Saint-Cloud racecourse, despite its significant size (75 hectares), poses problems for managing supporter flows due to its isolation in terms of public transport. The city of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is also in discussions with PSG, although this site is not the favorite.

Ideally, PSG would like to stay at the Parc des Princes or close to Paris. According to L’Equipe, the club wants to establish an ambitious new stadium, particularly in terms of ecology. « The management aims to make it an exceptional venue and move quickly. »
