According to French sports newspaper L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has not paid Kylian Mbappé his salary for the months of April and May.

The club is reportedly seeking to recoup an €80 million bonus that was promised to the player upon his contract extension in May 2022. Mbappé had verbally agreed to forfeit the bonus if he left the club and was then reinstated.

L’Equipe reports:
The dispute centers on the player’s reinstatement, which was agreed to but not fully carried out.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who has a strained relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, reportedly believes that Real Madrid should be responsible for paying the bonus.
Real Madrid has refused to pay, prompting PSG to withhold Mbappé’s salary for April and May.
L’Equipe suggests that Mbappé’s June salary, his last month under contract with PSG, may also be withheld.
The dispute is now reportedly being handled by lawyers.
PSG wants to add an amendment to the contract since no agreement was signed in August, while Mbappé’s camp is demanding payment of what is owed.
If no agreement is reached, the matter could be referred to the Ligue de Football Professionnel’s (LFP) legal commission for resolution.

Potential legal action looms

The situation between Mbappé and PSG has reportedly become tense, with both sides considering legal action. The outcome of this dispute could have significant implications for both the player and the club.
