Nuno Mendes’ Surgeon Says PSG Player Will Come Back Stronger

PSG’s left-back, Nuno Mendes, underwent surgery for his hamstring injury in Finland on Friday.

The 21-year-old player, who has been sidelined since April 30th, is now expected to undergo a rehabilitation process that will keep him away from the pitch for approximately four months.

For this operation, Mendes traveled to Turku, Finland, where he was attended to by surgeon Lasse Lempainen. According to Lempainen, the young player has good prospects of returning to his best form after this period of recovery.

« He had already been injured in May. It had been decided not to operate at that time, but given the situation and this relapse, it was necessary to do so. We are very satisfied with the operation. Right away, he was in good spirits. He is a calm, polite, pleasant person. He is very well supported. I am very optimistic. He is a young player, and he has significant recovery capabilities. We have set a very precise recovery plan, which has been communicated by the club. (…) I am convinced that he will return to a very high level, » he told L’Équipe.
