In an upcoming episode of « Envoyé Spécial, » scheduled for January 18, Fayza Lamari, the mother of Kylian Mbappé, reveals that money was not the primary concern for Kylian Mbappé’s contract extension at PSG. She openly acknowledges pushing PSG to release millions of euros for the extension in 2022.
The Mbappé family understands the business side of football, and Fayza Lamari confirms that they don’t hesitate to negotiate the best contracts. However, she also emphasizes the importance of her son using the money intelligently.
Fayza Lamari reveals in the « Envoyé Spécial » program that she insisted on Kylian Mbappé contributing 30% of the profits from his companies to the IBKM association (Inspired by Kylian Mbappé), a company jointly managed by the player and his mother.
In an excerpt revealed by Le Parisien, Lamari asserts, « I told Kylian, I am willing to work 23 hours a day for you. But the only thing that pleases me is IBKM. I said: Below 30%, I don’t do it! I withdraw, and I do like everyone else: I go on vacation to the Maldives, but I don’t work for you! At first, I had told him we split 50/50, but we discussed, and we settled on 30. »
Regarding Mbappé’s 2022 contract extension with PSG, Lamari confirms that the Mbappé family did not give any concessions to PSG. « There is no guilt or shame. If we could have taken 10 billion, we would have taken them because that’s how the system works. »
The current contract is reported to be €72 million gross per year with a signing bonus of €180 million. However, Mbappé is said to have forgone part of the bonuses in exchange for not activating his last year. RMC specifies that the amount involved is €80 million.
