Newcastle United will face a daunting task when they take on PSG on Wednesday evening, as they will be without some of their summer reinforcements.
Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, will have to contend with a significantly weakened squad for their Champions League encounter with PSG. In addition to midfielder Joe Willock’s absence since the start of the season, the manager will also have to do without their summer signing Harvey Barnes (acquired for €44 million).
But the troubles don’t stop there. Forward Joelinton sustained an injury shortly after coming on as a substitute in this weekend’s match against Burnley, lasting only four minutes on the pitch. Striker Callum Wilson is also unavailable due to a hamstring injury.
In defense, former Lille player Sven Botman will also be missing due to a knee injury. Bruno Guimarães might still be available despite an ankle issue.
