Marco Verratti opens up in an interview with L’Equipe, discussing his 11 years at PSG and his current situation.

Marco Verratti is still a Parisian, albeit temporarily working abroad. He reveals in L’Equipe that he hasn’t entirely relocated: « I’ll live here for the rest of my life. My family and children have stayed here. When I have days off, I come back. I’ll at least come to watch the matches. I’d really like to see PSG win the Champions League, » he says.

Unlike some who have had negative things to say about PSG after leaving, Verratti expresses his deep attachment to the club: « You don’t spend eleven years at a place if you’re not in love. I had no desire to go to another European team where I might have faced PSG. PSG gave me the opportunity to experience at the highest level something I would have done with my friends. That’s why I will always be grateful, and I will never make an issue with the club. In football, things evolve. I played there for eleven years, maybe they want to do something else. The most important thing is that we part on good terms. »

Finally, the Italian discusses the reasons behind his departure: « When I came back for the season, I was told I wasn’t in the plans. I drew the consequences. That’s the way I am. PSG gave me everything I could dream of, » he says.
