Luis Enrique Excluded Two PSG Players During Training
The end of the season is a bit of a coast for PSG, but Luis Enrique isn’t pleased with the behavior of some players.
Following their elimination in the Champions League semi-finals, PSG has seen some relaxation among the squad. According to L’Equipe, things heated up during a training session last week. The sports daily reports that two players were sent off from training due to arriving late.
Who were the players? L’Equipe didn’t name names, but over the weekend, five players, including French internationals Ousmane Dembélé and Kylian Mbappé, were given three days off. It appears that the players sent off from training are not among these. However, could they be among those absent for the Nice vs. PSG match? Among the absentees were Randal Kolo Muani, Achraf Hakimi, and Nuno Mendes. Presnel Kimpembe, Sergio Rico, Lucas Hernandez, Ousmane Dembélé (who suffered a knock to his left thigh in the match against Toulouse), Kylian Mbappé (experiencing left hamstring discomfort), and Keylor Navas (ill) were also missing.
This weekend, Luis Enrique made his stance clear to the unmotivated players. “I count on all my players, as I have throughout the season. It’s a beautiful week; some players have played, others haven’t,” explained the PSG coach, before holding everyone, including Mbappé, accountable. “This week, we’ll see who is ready, who is not, and who is the most eager. The Coupe de France final is very important for us,” said the PSG coach over the weekend.
