The French national team is gearing up for its last two matches in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, and these matches won’t be inconsequential.
While the French team has already secured qualification for Euro 2024, they have a clear objective in their last two qualifying matches: to secure the status of being a top seed for the draw scheduled for December 2nd in Hamburg.
With six victories, the French team currently has 18 points. To guarantee their top-seed status, they need two more points, which could be achieved by securing two positive results against Gibraltar and Greece.
Reaching a total of 20 points would place them among the top five first-placed teams, alongside Germany as the host country, thus optimizing their chances of getting a favorable draw.
If France reaches the 20-point mark, other teams in contention won’t be able to surpass them in terms of points, solidifying their position as a top seed. The French team is, therefore, aiming to optimize its seeding before the draw, even though their qualification is already assured.
