In Marseille, there will be some discontent. But OM supporters will hope that PSG wins the French Cup against Lyon. With seven matches left in the championship, OM is currently 7th in Ligue 1 and aims to reach 6th place, which guarantees qualification for the Europa Conference League playoffs.
However, the race is tight with Lens, Rennes, Reims, and even Lyon, who sits 10th in the standings. Marseille could still hope to qualify for the Europa League group stage, trailing Nice by four points.
But everything could change with PSG’s victory in the French Cup final. Winning the French Cup qualifies the team for the Europa League. However, since PSG will be playing in the Champions League, the Europa League qualification spot will pass to the sixth-placed team in Ligue 1.
