Burglar of PSG Campus Betrayed by DNA
A 17-year-old teenager was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday at the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine police station (Yvelines) for burglarizing the lodge of the security guard at the Paris Saint-Germain’s new training center in Poissy.
The burglary is reported to have occurred between May 6 and May 8, involving a broken window, a thoroughly searched lodge, and stolen equipment, according to Le Parisien.
Among the stolen items are a laptop, an Armor X smartphone, a 4G router, as well as the gate remote control and an access control reader.
These last items were particularly concerning as they could allow the thief access to the PSG training center, scheduled to be inaugurated next year. The teenager was taken into custody for these actions, according to Le Parisien.
« The forensic police are dispatched to the scene to take samples. Its agents collect DNA. From this genetic profile, a young man is identified by the National DNA Database (Fnaeg). The teenager is arrested Tuesday morning at his home in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis), » explains the newspaper.
« He admitted the facts, ‘with difficulty,’ according to a police source. As for the stolen items, the young man claims to have gotten rid of them: he explained that he threw them away. The remote control and the access control reader for the site have not been found. »
