Kylian Mbappé experienced a rather peculiar evening during PSG-Rennes: heckled both on and off the field.

It was a wild night for Kylian Mbappé. The Parisian forward surely didn’t expect such a semifinal. Firstly, he was jeered by a portion of the crowd during the pre-match presentation, an unusual occurrence at the Parc des Princes.

Then, during the match, things didn’t go as planned either. Mbappé missed the chance to open the scoring with a lackluster penalty saved by Steve Mandanda. However, the Parisian forward redeemed himself by scoring the only goal of the match, apologizing to the fans in the process for the missed penalty.

After the final whistle, Mbappé found himself in the midst of an altercation with a Rennes player. Warmed Omari, who had provoked the penalty without consequence, attempted to confront the Parisian number 7, who had taunted him during the match.

Approaching the Parisian group returning to salute the supporters, Mbappé seemed a bit bewildered. It took the intervention of Rennes coach Julien Stéphan and several Rennes players, including in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms, to defuse the situation.
