Marco Asensio recently shared his experiences with Be In Sports, discussing the challenges of leaving Spain for the vibrant city of Paris and his ongoing adaptation.

Life in Paris can be tough for La Liga expatriates. Even Lionel Messi, a millionaire, had his difficulties during his two years in Paris. Marco Asensio also faced challenges in adapting to life in Paris, but things are improving.

He stated, « It was necessary to settle down and find a new home with my wife. We didn’t know anyone, and the language was new. It was a bit complicated at first. But now we are well settled, very happy. People welcomed us well, and that helped me adapt quickly. » Asensio is taking French lessons to accelerate his adaptation.

On the field, competition will be fierce. As for his preferred position, Asensio explained, « I play where the coach puts me. I feel very comfortable in central positions. With wingers very high up, I can drop back to get the ball. I like to be involved in the team’s play. Whether on the right or in front of my midfield, I position myself where I feel most comfortable, but I like to drop back to receive the ball, launch counterattacks, and help the team escape pressure. It’s a good position for me. »

He also discussed PSG’s head coach, Luis Enrique: « He is a coach who wants us to have the ball, to recover it absolutely when we don’t have it, with strong, high pressing in the opponent’s half. It’s very intense for us. He demands a lot from his players. But when we look at the squad, we align with his playing style. An offensive game, based on possession. We always want to attack. » Asensio’s adaptation to both Paris and PSG continues, and he looks forward to contributing to the team’s success.
