Kylian Mbappé, the captain of the French national team, has been notably reserved in media interactions since last summer, and there are reasons for this, according to Le Parisien.
While Mbappé is not obligated to speak at every national team gathering, his last press conference with the team revolved almost entirely around his future with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), which reportedly annoyed him and also irked coach Didier Deschamps.
To avoid diverting attention from the team’s important matches against Ireland and the Netherlands, Mbappé decided to remain silent during that period.
Le Parisien suggests that Mbappé may have wanted to wait until after France secured qualification for Euro 2024 before addressing his future.
Despite the recent criticism from Luis Enrique, despite his hat-trick against Reims, and amid the ongoing speculation about a potential move to another club starting from January 1st, Mbappé might break his silence and speak either this Friday in Nice or on Monday before the match against Greece.
