Dani Alves Booed upon his release from prison – Watch
After being convicted in February for rape and sentenced to four and a half years in prison, Dani Alves was released this Monday from the Spanish penitentiary where he had been held for over a year.
Dani Alves is finally free… pending the decision on his appeal. The former PSG player managed to gather the one-million-euro bail amount, allowing him to temporarily regain his freedom.
It took the former Brazilian player from FC Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG five days to gather this sum, following the decision made by the court last week to grant him bail pending his appeal trial.
The former footballer was booed by protesters upon his release. He is prohibited from leaving Spain, approaching within a kilometer of the victim’s home or workplace, and having any contact with her. The player must present himself at the Barcelona court every Friday, as stated in the judicial document consulted by AFP, which confirmed the bail deposit early Monday morning.
