PSG and Parc des Princes may not be parting ways just yet: Marc Armstrong, Chief Revenue Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, gave an interview to the English media BBC Sport to discuss the matter.
After applying some pressure, PSG is taking a small step towards the Paris City Hall. Marc Armstrong, Chief Revenue Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, reaffirms PSG’s primary desire to stay at Parc des Princes. However, there’s a condition: the City Hall of Paris must sell them the stadium.
The Parisian executive promises a renovated stadium. « Our preference is clearly for the redevelopment of Parc des Princes… It’s our historic headquarters. It’s where we want to be, where the fans want us to be, and it’s within the city limits. But the money needed to make it the stadium it needs to be is enormous. We are ready to spend that money, and we want to, but the city must sell us the building. We have been very clear, and we have been seriously exploring other options for a year, » he said.
PSG reportedly has a plan to expand the stadium to 57,000 seats, including a roof and a retractable pitch. But as it stands, the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, refuses to sell Parc des Princes.
