Paris Saint-Germain secured a 3-1 victory against Rennes on Sunday, taking advantage of missteps by its direct competitors.

5th place on Sunday, 3rd on Monday. Luis Enrique can smile after PSG’s triumph over Rennes—a well-executed match that resulted in a significant climb in the standings. The disappointing results of Brest (1-1 draw against Toulouse) and Reims (1-3 loss to Monaco) allowed PSG to gain two places in the rankings in one fell swoop.

PSG has also closed the gap with the league leader and is now only two points behind the top spot, with Monaco leading the table with 17 points and Nice in 2nd place with 16 points.

In the 9th round, Paris will face Strasbourg, while Nice takes on Marseille, and Monaco confronts FC Metz.
