Kylian Mbappé is on the brink of achieving a significant victory with Real Madrid: a substantial share of his image rights.
According to L’Équipe, Mbappé will earn an annual gross salary ranging from €30 to €35 million at Madrid, along with a signing bonus between €100 and €130 million. This is in addition to the income generated from his image rights. Negotiations between the two parties are ongoing regarding this aspect.
El Chiringuito and AS report that an agreement is close to being finalized to allocate 80% of the French player’s image rights to Mbappé himself, leaving only 20% with Real Madrid. This sum will serve as an alternative form of remuneration for the French international, supplementing his salary.
However, this deal would only apply to contracts signed after Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid. Existing contracts signed while he was at PSG would not be included. Real Madrid initially hesitated on this point, as the club typically does not concede more than 50% of image rights.
One of the few exceptions occurred in 2009 when Cristiano Ronaldo secured… 60% of his image rights. Thus, Kylian Mbappé is already surpassing his idol in this regard.
