Christophe Galtier faced trial on Friday for allegations of racism. The Public Prosecutor has revealed its requisitions, calling for imprisonment for the former PSG coach.

The trial of Christophe Galtier for psychological harassment and discrimination began on Friday. The former coach of Nice stated that he was « not happy but relieved to be » in court to provide clarification.

The public prosecutor in Nice has requested a twelve-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 45,000 euros, while the Licra (International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism) is asking for 5,000 euros in damages. The defense emphasized a « file irrigated with lies » and the lack of evidence, regretting that the public prosecutor fell into the trap of people « in open conflict with Galtier. »

As part of this trial, Christophe Galtier was questioned about the salary he currently receives in Qatar. « For security reasons, I cannot answer, » said the coach of Al-Duhail to the court, as reported by Nice-Matin. « I imagine that this amount is disturbing, so be it, » replied the Public Prosecutor of Nice, Damien Martinelli.
