Dani Alves, former player for PSG and Barcelona, has received his sentence.

Dani Alves will remain in prison. Found guilty of sexual assault on a young woman in the bathrooms of a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022, the former PSG or FC Barcelona full-back was sentenced this Thursday to a prison term of 4 and a half years by the Barcelona court.

The prosecution had requested 9 years of incarceration, while the victim had asked for 12 years. To protect him, an anti-suicide protocol has been put in place due to his psychological state in detention.

Furthermore, Dani Alves has been ordered to pay compensation to the victim amounting to 150,000 euros. Additionally, a restraining order of 9 years and 5 years of supervised release have been imposed on him.

In announcing the sentence, the court found that the victim’s consent had not been given. Both parties also have the opportunity to appeal the verdict.
