Dugarry Criticizes Ligue 1: « An Absolute Purge »
Christophe Dugarry didn’t mince his words when expressing his disappointment with the 12th round of Ligue 1 matches. His sentiments and frustration were shared during the « Rothen s’enflamme » show on RMC this Monday.
Is Ligue 1 in dire straits? For Christophe Dugarry, the answer is a resounding yes. « We need to open our eyes. If someone explains to me that Ligue 1 is good, I’d like to see a few matches. The Lens-OM game on Sunday evening (1-0) was just cataclysmic. It was an absolute purge. I also watched Le Havre-Monaco (0-0), horrible. I saw Montpellier-Nice (0-0), I think they could have played for four and a half hours, and they would never have scored a goal. They were staring into each other’s eyes. We wondered if they were going to end up making love, a little stolen kiss or something, but nothing at all. It was just horrible. »
« It’s an absolute purge. When I watched Rennes-Lyon (0-1), it was horrible. In Lyon, my friend Cherki, his match was an absolute disgrace. I’ve never seen a guy walk so much. Not a sprint, not a change of pace, nothing. It was a purge. Nothing is happening. »
« We have a Spanish coach at Paris Saint-Germain (Luis Enrique), who arrives with lots of good intentions and good ideas. For now, I don’t see the collective game either. It’s saved by individualities. Rennes has the squad for it, but it must be acknowledged that, for now, it’s not working, and Genesio hasn’t found the right formula. »
