Dembélé the Homebody: « Spend a day with me, you’ll have a good laugh »
Ousmane Dembélé opened up in an interview with Le Parisien ahead of the Champions League match against Real Sociedad this Wednesday evening.
Ousmane Dembélé speaks candidly in a comprehensive interview for Le Parisien. The PSG player explains his discretion. « It’s completely natural. I don’t post anything on social media except photos of football. In my life, I’ve always been discreet and calm. I’m a homebody, and home is my sanctuary. »
« But if you spend a day with me, believe me, you’ll have a good laugh. I watch practically all the leagues: France, Spain, Italy, England, Germany… even the English Championship, especially Sunderland because I know the owner, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus. »
Dembélé also discusses his ambitions for the upcoming events. « The Olympics? I’m solely focused on the upcoming Euro. In the French national team, we only talk about that; we really want to win it because the last one didn’t go well. The goal is for the season to end as late as possible, in June, at the time of the Champions League final, so that we’re still here to finish with as many trophies as possible. The club is in reconstruction. I try to do my best, always giving my maximum and being decisive. »
The Parisian forward also opens up about his years at Barça. « I had incredible moments with Xavi. We were very close. He gave me a lot of advice and had great confidence in me. I’ve known Luis Enrique for a long time since he wanted me to come to Barcelona when I was at Rennes. I’m really happy to have him as a coach. »
And the atmosphere in the PSG locker room? « The Spaniards and Portuguese have known each other for a long time. Everyone communicates and gets along very well. »
