Goals are on the way: Gonçalo Ramos promises as he adapts to PSG
Gonçalo Ramos has had a bit of a tough time finding the back of the net in the early part of the season with PSG, but he’s confident that the goals will start flowing.
Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani find themselves in similar situations, competing directly for playing time, and both have had a bit of a struggle in terms of scoring. However, Ramos is optimistic that things will change soon.
He attributes his relatively slow start in terms of goals to the process of adapting to a new team and a new city. Ramos has shared this perspective with those around him, as reported by L’Equipe.
His coach, Luis Enrique, also came to his defense in a press conference, saying, « What you see from Ramos is what the coaching staff asks of him. We need the number 9 to drop back so that his teammates can exploit the space. He’s doing that very well. It’s true that we’re not a team that delivers many crosses due to our style of play. Perhaps we don’t see all of Gonçalo’s best attributes, but both he and Randal Kolo Muani are doing fantastic work. Asensio, Barcola, and Lee can also play in that position. »
Ramos and PSG are confident that with time and adaptation, the goals will come.
